A Vintage Summer. #StyledbyMarina
I was inspired by the colorful and boisterous weekend flower market scene,
The dashing red and yellow rose bouquets were on display,
The evergreens had never been more lush looking,
The florid hydrangea and peonies blooming under the simmering August sun.
For some odd reasons,
All the noises and vibrant colors conjure up a calm and comforting state of mind.
It was a hot Sunday morning,
Oh, summer, how you torture us with your unbearable heat,
your unpredictable thunderstorms in the afternoons,
but we love you despite it.
As much as we loathe the humid air and the scorching sensation we feel on our skin,
You remain to be our absolute favorite time of year.
Summer is a time to escape,
A time to enjoy the sunshine and the happiness it seems to bring to all of us.
A time we celebrate the mother earth and this magical season through festivals and music events,
A time we spend endless days in the deserts, dance in the valley while listening to old music.
Summer is a time jet off,
To get away from the daily mundane life for a while,
Fly off to some island in the Mediterranean,
Among the white sand and warm, aquamarine waters,
You are free.
To me at least, Summer brings back all sorts of old memories,
A certain vanilla ice cream scent,
A familiar blue color,
An old novel and a song I used to love.
For me, Summer is a time to reminisce about the old days,
When everything was simpler,
When the world is less complicated,
When the music was so genuine and poetic it could make you cry,
When boys actually wrote love letters to girls.
There must be a reason they call it the good old days,
Because sometimes you just get the feeling that the world isn't better than it used to be.
