Grandpa's Sweater from the 60s #StyledByMarina

Today I'm coming at you with a quick winter outfit post. Keeping it warm and stylish in the winter time can be quite a challenge for us girls. Especially when it is currently 5 degrees or snowy outside and you gotta look good while trying to stay warm and cozy. As much as we all adore a sexy silk dress or a chic little black dress for Christmas and  New Year party, sometimes the weather just gets too freezing cold to even consider wearing a dress.

When it comes to the kind of clothing materials and fabrics that are capable of keeping one nice and toasty during the winter season, wool and knit automatically comes up to my mind. Combining my love for vintage and retro clothing, I created this head-to-toe outfit look using mostly the clothes that have been in my closet for ages and some of them I purchased recently during my trip to South Korea.

For my top, I wore a sturdy vintage brown wool sweater with black and white stripes and puffy sleeves. I absolutely love vintage sweaters like these, this sweater has been in my closet for many years and every winter I discover a new way to style it. I love vintage sweaters because of their high-quality, interesting yet timeless prints and pattern and their versatility when it comes to styling them. And just in case it ever gets a bit colder, I also had on my checked blazer with me.

As for my bottom, I chose a long wool pencil skirt with similar stripes print on it, I bought this skirt whilst on my trip to South Korea in November, The price is super affordable and the quality is very nice. It's one of those cozy skirts that can keep you warm in the winter time.

For shoes, I just had on my sparkly sneakers from Bershka and paired it with some anklets to add a little more retro vibe to my look. And to accessorize, I had on my deep blue velvet newsboy hat which I love, hats and velvet are just the perfect combinations for the winter season. Lastly, I wore a simple choker from HotTopic.

Checked Blazer - Meierq
Brown Stripes Wool Sweater - Vintage
Long Wool Pencil Skirt - Korea
Blue Velvet Newsboy Hat - Vii&Co
Sparkly Sneakers - Bershka
Choker - HotTopic

I adore this "vintage winter look" I put together! Because I feel like sometimes we forgot how much clothes we buy on a monthly(or for me, weekly. oops!) basis and we would inevitably end up with an enormous amount of clothes that we rarely ever wear. So every so often I like to take a good look at my closet and the clothes I already own and come up with fun new ideas to mix and match each piece of clothing and create new looks.

If you haven't tried it yet, I encourage you to dig through your closet and REALLY give some of your old clothing a good look, you never know, you might just be inspired by them once again. However, if you are like me that love vintage clothing, you already know the magic of each piece of old clothing and the stories behind them, and the tales they continue to tell while you are wearing them.

Merry Christmas and I wish you guys a happy new year!

Styled By Marina - Notting Hill, London #OOTD

Alright, I have been M.I.A for the past two weeks or so. The reason for that was because I was lucky enough to travel to the United Kingdom. If you do keep up with me on Instagram or Tumblr then you probably already knew considering how regular I post my travel pictures, lol. I was beyond excited about it although the whole trip was sort of a very last minute decision. Before you ask, yes, I am going to be writing a lot of blog posts on the different cities and places I went to, so please look forward to that.

Boracay Travel #MarinaTravels

Escaping to an exotic and tropical island in South East Asia for a get-away vacation was something I had always wanted to do. I was fortunate enough to jet off to the beautiful and exciting island - Boracay for a few days. The experiences along with plenty of lovely travel memories, as well as one of the most hospitable countries which is The Philippines will forever have a special place in my heart.

Gamcheon Culture Village 부산 감천문화마을, South Korea #MarinaTravels

Surprise! I'm in the last place all my family and friends would expect me to go, Busan, South Korea. You know sometimes you just feel like you need a relaxing and hassle-free get-away from all your daily routines and work life. That's exactly what I did. As I usually travel quite far, I'm talking about 19 or even 20-hour flight far. But this time, I ain't got the time and money, lol. Since South Korea is merely a 2.5-hour flight away from me, I took the chance and went to Busan with my friend.

Gamcheon Culture Village is a bright, eccentric place famous for its countless amount of colorful houses sitting on a foothill of a coastal mountain. Dubbed the Machu Picchu of Busan, Lego Village, and Korea's Santorini, just to name a few. It is fair to say that Gamcheon Culture Village is without a doubt one of the most popular tourist sights, I had to wake up early for this one. Fear not, if you arrive at the village around 9am or generally in the morning, which I did, yo…

Velvet Baddie #StyledByMarina

Hey guys! Merry December! Today I thought I'd pop on here and do a quick little outfit post. If you are like me that loves scrolling through Instagram to get new outfit ideas and style inspiration. You will most certainly understand what I am about to say next.I have been really inspired by a lot of Los Angeles based Instagram girls. Now before you say anything, yes, looking at their daily outfit post is kind of my guilty pleasure. Everything aside, you simply can't deny the fact that California girls just oozes self-confidence that is difficult to imitate.

Daegu, South Korea 대구 #MarinaTravels

After 2 and a half hour flight, I landed at Gimhae International Airport in Busan Korea. Before I even knew it, I found myself in the city center of  Seomyeon being bombarded by blinding Korean shop signs, uproarious Kpop music, and its vibrant, exciting nightlife. However today I want to talk about something quite different. Something other than just the hip and modern Korean city life. I had the amazing opportunity to visit Daegu, a city in North Gyeongsang Province. It is while I was there I had the fortune of spending an afternoon in Apsan Park (대구앞산공원), one of the most breathtaking and beautiful wilderness park I've visited in my life.

The fastest and most convenient way to get to the City of Daegu from Busan is by taking the Korea Train Express (KTX). You could either book your tickets online or buy them at the counter. If the ticket line gets too long and you're in a rush, they also have automatic ticket machines where you can purchase your tickets using a credit card.…
