Velvet Baddie #StyledByMarina

Hey guys! Merry December! Today I thought I'd pop on here and do a quick little outfit post. If you are like me that loves scrolling through Instagram to get new outfit ideas and style inspiration. You will most certainly understand what I am about to say next.I have been really inspired by a lot of Los Angeles based Instagram girls. Now before you say anything, yes, looking at their daily outfit post is kind of my guilty pleasure. Everything aside, you simply can't deny the fact that California girls just oozes self-confidence that is difficult to imitate.

Most L.A. girls are known for their barely their mini crop-tops, high-waisted skin tight jeans and fur coats, but today I'd like to talk about a fashion trend that has been here for a while, but has proven that it is here to stay, and will certainly continue to be one of the huge trends in 2018. You guessed it --- velvet.

When I first noticed that velvet clothing items are making a come back from the 90s, (some might say it's an 80s trend.) I am beyond ecstatic. Since then I've accumulated my fair share of velvet fashion items. Not only it is a super soft and comfortable material, with the right styling, velvet could easily elevate your entire outfit look.

I was scrolling through some pretty famous Instagram influencers' accounts ( Kelsey Calemine, Sydney and Devon Carlson, Olivia O'Brien, you get the idea.) when I realized that so many girls are wearing this velvet set outfit, possibly from Juicy Couture because they are known for their pink sporty velvet sets in the early 2000s(Mean Girls, right a bell, anyone?). I wanted to recreate this outfit and makes it into a more modern, edgy version.

I'm wearing this black velvet hoodie crop top which cinches at the waist, and I paired it with a high-waisted velvet pants with the same color. For shoes, I wear a pair of combat boots from Forever 21. Lastly, to give my usual hairstyle a change, I put on a Burberry plaid baseball hat that I recently purchased. I love this outfit simply because of how easy and effortless to pull off, it not only keeps me warm and comfy, it is also a super edgy and bad-ass look for the winter time.

Ice Velvet Pants - Vii&Co

To me, this is the perfect outfit whenever you are feeling lazy and don't want to spend time figuring out what to wear but still wanna look good. Especially during winter time, we all have that moment in the morning when we just want to curl up in our beds and hide under the warmth of our blankets all day. The smooth and velvety texture almost feels like you are wrap in a blanket, the matchy, color coordinate set outfits have also been really trendy recently. You could easily see a lot of off-duty models wearing similar outfits like this as well.\

Alright, that's about it, let me know in the comments below if you are into this kind of outfits, and feel free to share some of your favorite winter style and fashion trends with me :) Stay cozy!

Styled By Marina - Notting Hill, London #OOTD

Alright, I have been M.I.A for the past two weeks or so. The reason for that was because I was lucky enough to travel to the United Kingdom. If you do keep up with me on Instagram or Tumblr then you probably already knew considering how regular I post my travel pictures, lol. I was beyond excited about it although the whole trip was sort of a very last minute decision. Before you ask, yes, I am going to be writing a lot of blog posts on the different cities and places I went to, so please look forward to that.

Boracay Travel #MarinaTravels

Escaping to an exotic and tropical island in South East Asia for a get-away vacation was something I had always wanted to do. I was fortunate enough to jet off to the beautiful and exciting island - Boracay for a few days. The experiences along with plenty of lovely travel memories, as well as one of the most hospitable countries which is The Philippines will forever have a special place in my heart.

Gamcheon Culture Village 부산 감천문화마을, South Korea #MarinaTravels

Surprise! I'm in the last place all my family and friends would expect me to go, Busan, South Korea. You know sometimes you just feel like you need a relaxing and hassle-free get-away from all your daily routines and work life. That's exactly what I did. As I usually travel quite far, I'm talking about 19 or even 20-hour flight far. But this time, I ain't got the time and money, lol. Since South Korea is merely a 2.5-hour flight away from me, I took the chance and went to Busan with my friend.

Gamcheon Culture Village is a bright, eccentric place famous for its countless amount of colorful houses sitting on a foothill of a coastal mountain. Dubbed the Machu Picchu of Busan, Lego Village, and Korea's Santorini, just to name a few. It is fair to say that Gamcheon Culture Village is without a doubt one of the most popular tourist sights, I had to wake up early for this one. Fear not, if you arrive at the village around 9am or generally in the morning, which I did, yo…

Daegu, South Korea 대구 #MarinaTravels

After 2 and a half hour flight, I landed at Gimhae International Airport in Busan Korea. Before I even knew it, I found myself in the city center of  Seomyeon being bombarded by blinding Korean shop signs, uproarious Kpop music, and its vibrant, exciting nightlife. However today I want to talk about something quite different. Something other than just the hip and modern Korean city life. I had the amazing opportunity to visit Daegu, a city in North Gyeongsang Province. It is while I was there I had the fortune of spending an afternoon in Apsan Park (대구앞산공원), one of the most breathtaking and beautiful wilderness park I've visited in my life.

The fastest and most convenient way to get to the City of Daegu from Busan is by taking the Korea Train Express (KTX). You could either book your tickets online or buy them at the counter. If the ticket line gets too long and you're in a rush, they also have automatic ticket machines where you can purchase your tickets using a credit card.…
