Autumn Tag: The Movie

After an unbearably hot summer, I am thrilled and pleased that we've officially entered the autumn season. Although in East Asia, most countries still have days where there is 30 degrees heat. I, however, am determined to get into the autumn spirits regardless of the current outside weather. If you are an Autumn/Winter-person and look forward to all that is spooky like me, then please, by all means, grab a cup of hot coffee or tea or cocoa, and enjoy this cinnamon and vanilla infused post all about Autumn.

I tag all of you that are reading this post and have a love for the harvest season to answer these autumn-themed questions to celebrate the start of this magical and beautiful season.

Postcard from Safranbolu.

Mornings in Safranbolu are quiet and chilly. Waking up at 6:30am is a bit unconventional for the locals I suppose. There is no one roaming the streets except for a few adorable stray cats in search of their morning meals. Being in this historic town in the Black Sea region of Turkey made me realized just how far I've escaped from my normal life back home, and I loved it.

The birds are chirping on the leafless tree branches, air is crisp and the cobblestone roads are narrow. As I meander through the winding old alleys, The charming traditional houses and beautiful mosques along the way capture my eyes, so I decided to document everything. With my senses, my eyes, my minds, my words, and my camera.

How our fives senses work, I don't exactly know. Yet I have somewhat of a sensitive soul. When I travel, I notice things, little tiny details and they live eternally in my mind and replay like a classic old film that never gets old. Wild tulips that grow on the side of pavements in Istanbul. The lively and noisy seagulls circling above our cruise ship on the Dardanelles. The spectacular view of Cappadocia Plateau and the hundreds of hot air-balloons that take off in sync when the first ray of sunshine hits the city. The slightest cracks the stones and ruins in the Ancient city of Ephesus.

See I notice things, the littlest things. They make me feel alive and co-existing with every creature on this incredible planet. I yearn to be free and positive at all times but don't you think sometimes the world is so beautiful it makes us so sad? And the peculiar thing of all is that under the conflicted mixed emotions of melancholy, inspiring, joyous and thrilling somehow produce the most authentic and invigorating words out of me.

  6. This town reminds me a little bit of Bosnia, probably because the country was very influenced by the Ottoman empire, so it has that same type of architecture.

    Loved your pictures!
