  • Regarding Style...my point of view
I used to wear only black clothes. The long-reigning queen of fashion industry Anna Wintour once said in an interview that she would never wear head to toe black. Well, I think we are just gonna have to agree to disagree on that, Anna. lol. The truth is I wore black not because I want to hide my body or that I'm too lazy to choose what color to wear today. It's simply because I feel like black reflect what I was/am feeling inside. Sometimes black could easily be the most expressive tone.

Growing up I go through different style phases, as every teenage girl did I'm sure. One minute we'd be like totally into colorful girly dresses and accessories and then the next we were cynical emos that listen to indie rock bands and only wore black outfits with our hair dyed in six different colors. But slowly as we grew up, we developed our very own tastes and style. Each of us is unique in our own way and that is precisely why I'm fascinated by fashion. We can dress up to express ourselves artistically. We can let our imaginations run wild and experiment with different colors, patterns, and designs. To me, the most amazing thing about style and fashion is that there's no right or wrong, New trends are constantly being created, old styles are being reintroduced and reinvented.
  • Outfit of the Day

Today I finally decided that I'm just going to sit down and wrote my first ever fashion/style post. I figured I'd show you what I wore to an afternoon tea date with my friends on a beautiful, sunny spring day. I've been really inspired by classic 90's cult movies such as The Craft and Clueless. The flamboyant colors, the vintage patterned shirts, and velvet pieces have been really on trend since last year and I'm quite certain they are going to rule 2017 as well.

Alright so I didn’t exactly dress up like Cher from Clueless with that in-your-face yellow pleated set outfits, nor did I chose to wear head to toe black like one of the grungy emo teenage witches from The Craft. By the way, The Craft is like one of my all-time favorite movie, anyone one that likes a good gothic cult movie should totally check it out; or you could simply go see the film for its on point 90s edgy, grunge style.

If you are particularly interested in the movies I mentioned above and want to check them out I will link an article from Haper’s Bazaar titled The 90’s Films that Every Fashion Girl Should Watch. It literally listed all my favorite 90’s movies from The Craft, Clueless, Cruel Intentions to The Talented Mr. Ripley and much more. If you are like me that love to take fashion inspirations from movies and TV shows, or you simply just like to indulge in a good film then you should definitely read this article and absorb all that 90’s movie knowledge haha!

The vibe of my outfit is retro and fun. Kind of like something you would see in a 1995 fashion magazine but with a modern twist. My aim is to be incredibly vintage but still aesthetically pleasing. I will list everything I wore as well as where I purchased them down below:

1.    Turtleneck cropped tank top: Bershka
2.    Red/Blue floral printed Blouse: Vintage
3.    High-waisted velvet culottes: Retro Girl
4.    Black fishnet ankle socks: Vii&Co
5.    Platform loafers in brown: Bershka
6.    Blue woolen back overlap coat: Meierq

This year I'm really pleased that I got back into wearing colors. As I mentioned earlier I went through a phase when I was around 19 to 21 years old when I used to only wear black and it's the only color that makes me feel comfortable and confident. Now don't get me wrong, in my opinion, black is the coolest, most versatile color and I still love black outfits to death. But it's always nice to be bold and get out of your comfort zone to try on various different styles and see if you like it or not. I mean, Who knows? You might eventually find yourself looking amazing in something you have always avoid or think you couldn't pull it off.

At last, I hope you enjoyed my first ever style related blog post and it has somewhat inspired or given you the courage to experience something new and different. I guess what I am trying to say is that being different is good, never be afraid to speak your mind or dress however you feel like it! Okay, that's pretty much all I have for today, please look forward to my next article where I will continue to write about my ttravel experience in Los Angeles. Until then, stay beautiful!
P.S. I wanna give a special shout out to my dear friend @huiyui0314 on Instagram for helping me took these outfit photos, she's the bomb!
